In 1972, someone started with 2 pair of Advent Loudspeakers and stacked them on top of each other. They stacked the top one upside down so the tweeters would disperse sound from roughly the same area. This configuration was reviewed by The Absolute Sound, a high-end audio publication, and the legend was born! The Advent Speaker designer genius, Andy Petite, wrote a letter to the dealers.

I bought my Double Advents in 1980 and have used them ever since. They’ve been refoamed twice and are currently the main speakers in my home theater system.
